Health- The children have started learning about the four food groups with Mrs. W.
On Monday they tried Kiwi and graphed their results. They were skeptical with the brown fuzzy skin, but everyone decided that they liked kiwi after tasting the sweet/sour fruit!
Thursday they made fruit smoothies with berries, oranges, carrots, kiwi, yogurt and juice.
Also very delicious and nutritious!

Spelling the Planets- Find and Match the words with magnetic letters

Space Words Rhyming Activity- Fly the Rockets to the right planet

Math Activities
1) Greater Than and Less Than- Draw 2 numbers and place them in the correct box.
(Number Recognition, Number Correspondence/Sequencing)
SKs recorded their Greater Than and Less Than sentences- practice printing numerals
2) Snowman Addition- Roll the dice twice and count the correct number of buttons onto each snowman, then count how many buttons there are all together.
Dice-"subitizing"-means to recognize a number without counting.
e.g., seeing the arrangement of 5 dots on the dice and knowing it is 5 without counting.
Addition Strategies- counting on from the bigger number (connected to greater than and less than!)
e.g., "5+2 is 5... 6, 7, the answer is 7"
3) Snowman 10 Frames- Colour/Draw the correct number to match the Number on the Snowman.
(Random Number Recognition and Subitizing)
Ten Frames are another great way to develop Subitizing Skills
Seeing 7 in the ten frame- top line is full (5) and 2 in the bottom line is 7 all together.
Also addition skills to add the 2 lines together as well as subtraction!
e.g., Seeing 9 in the ten frame, one box is empty, 1 less than 10 is 9.

Art- Rocket Ships
Count the letters in your name to build your own rocket ship.
Gluing and Printing
Add stars and planet stickers
And finally pastels and glitter glue for the blast off trail.
Shared Reading Poem- I'm a Little Rocket
Find the rhymes- moon/soon, say/way
Find the popcorn words- I'm, a, little, the, to, me, it's
Find the "king of ing"- pointing, getting
