March 23-27

 
 
This week we have started working more with numbers... beginning to add!
We have learned all our letters and are beginning to learn blends, this week's blend 'ch'.
The children are really starting to recognize popcorn words around the room and in shared reading activities-so exciting!
We are finishing up our learning about planets and outer space.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

 
Back on the edge.... revisiting the Venn Diagram- green and clovers...where do the green clovers go?
We figured it out!
In the middle!!! Move the hoops to create a middle spot!


Searching for gold.
 
Behind the sand box- "pot of gold at the end of the rainbow".
We talked about colours, rainbow wheels, primary and secondary colours and specifically mixing yellow and blue to make green. 

 
Sort and graph lucky charms.

Roll and cover the pot of gold coins. Then count.

Outerspace con'd

 
Thanks to our surprise visitor last week (Mr.Kacz), we now have a space ship for dramatic play.
The children enjoy pretending to blast off and land on distant planets.
They have been taping things down to the side, so they don't float away,
because there is no gravity in outer space.
