5 Senses

This week we started learning about our 5 senses.

We used string to 'feel' the sound vibrations in our ears.

 

 

Our letter blend of the week- th

Our popcorn word of the week- 'we'

The children are really starting to find popcorn words in our shared reading and writing activities.

They are writing our morning messages, using all the popcorn words, words around the room and sounding out anything else.

 



 

 

Math centers this week

1. Carrots- selecting a large or small carrot, adding the green tops,

counting and printing the correct number on each carrot.

2. Beading- stringing on correct number of beads to match the number seen.

3. Bug addition- two groups of bugs, then how many all together?

4. Cube Addition- use cubes to help solve the addition questions.

 

 

 Writing journals- 'In spring I see...'

 

 Sight word 'parking lot'... park your car and read the words!

 

Using play doh stampers to make her name!

 

Art-We used some kitchen gadgets to paint our first flowers of spring!

A fork to make the yellow dandelions and a scrub brush to make the white ones.

 

 

 



Easter Egg Hunt

Hoppy Easter!!!

We had a fun week preparing for Easter!

We painted pictures with pastel colours.

We painted Easter eggs with condensed milk.... they take a long time to dry, some went home still sticky! But they dry shiny and look great!

We also dyed Easter eggs, wrapped them with rubber elastics before we dunked them to keep white lines, very pretty!!!
